digteby outside

So not the worst place to host a winelands side book launch then?

Last night was the third of the Cape Town book launches and we were treated to a very special evening hosted by my friends Anel and Johan de Villiers at the clubhouse of the Digteby Estate in Vlottenberg, just outside of Stellenbosch.

With tbV [the beautiful Val, where have you been?] at the helm to MC this final Cape Town event, we were treated to a third different flavour as each new launch continued to take on a vibe of its own. Giving me a choice of three different questions to field and then asking me the one she wanted to ask when i ‘chose wrong’ created some humour and it was just super great to be doing this alongside this lady that i get to do life alongside.

The Q and A time was again a highlight and i realised that i could do a lot more of these events around the country if they involved more Q’s and A’s and less times of book signings [which is great and fine but always semi awkward as you try and make conversation and keep the line moving at the same time which i have yet to master] – just really loved the opportunity to speak about aspects of the book and general thoughts i have about the church and the country and definitely hope there is a way to set up some more of those maybe under a different guise.

And as always we had some volunteer camera people [although my main camera wizard sadly fell sick and was unable to make the event and so Miles Giljam stepped in and took some shots to capture things on his phone] who helped give us a reminder of how things went down.
