Tag Archive: The Weekly Mash

Some really great stuff happened on The Weekly Mash [and Peace!] this week and so, as always, this is the guide for those of you who may have missed any of them:

Monday was a Choose Your own Adventure type smile on your face day with the options being a cute slash creepy little girl on Britain’s got Talent singing with a giant snake wrapped round her neck, some hilarious fail attempts at Pinterest crafts and a couple who have worn matching outfits for way too many years in a row.

Tuesday was this stunning collection of street art creativity with some truly amazing offerings.

Wednesday was about making sure you got your Meds [Stories and posts aimed at those who are Married, Engaged, Dating or Single] with a collection of really inspiring posts on different aspects and stages of relationships.

Thursday was titled A definitive guide to insulting the Creator of the Universe and looked at the relationship between Jesus followers and the poor.

And then Friday was my take on the idea that Everything Happens for a Reason which took a look at the responsibility in life for things that happen.

Hope you enjoy and find something for you.

umbrellas and colourAnother week means another round-up of the blog posts that inhabited my other blog, ‘The Weekly Mash [and Peace!]’ and the chance to catch up with any of them you may have missed out on:

Monday was a combination of funny mixed with satire in the area of social justice as we got to see a video of the non-profit organisation whose mission is to get a blender into the hand of every African.

Tuesday was a combination of articles that caught my attention with the highlight probably being well-known Star Trek and X-Men actor Patrick Stewart demonstrating strong sensitivity and connection at a meeting as he reaches out to a victim of domestic abuse.

Wednesday is a lot better than it sounds as we watched a video clip of a woman with a nail in her forehead – also a bit of a satirical piece and some really good relationship advice in the area of when to listen and when to speak.

This week finished powerfully and full of challenge as Thursday revisited the old cartoon strip I saw years ago of two men trying to figure out why God doesn’t get more involved  in the affairs of the world and an idea of what His response might be.

Friday took a look at the craziness of people who call themselves ‘Christian’ and give a satisfying answer to that old kid’s quandary of “Oh yeah? Well if your friends jumped off a bridge, would you?”

So subscribers of Irresistibly Fish [this blog] may or may not know that i started another blog three weeks ago called ‘The Weekly Mash [and peace!]’ which has a regular focus – so each day each week will have the same focus with Monday being something fun, Tuesday being a news-related post, Wednesday having something to do with relationships, Thursday having a God-focused, Jesus-following aspect and then Friday being ‘My Day’ where i can blog about whatever is on my mind in the moment. The idea is for a regular range of topics but also that people can pick and choose the days they want to read based on what their interest is and know what’s happening when. General life bloggage is still going to happen here though, but for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet but wants to take a look, here is the weekly summary:

Monday was a rare picture that made me laugh out loud the first time I saw it and which continues to make me chuckle: Cloud man

Tuesday was a look at celebrity marriage and seeing if we could learn anything from Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner or Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith

Wednesday brought us the Love when you’re angry umbrella cartoon reminding us that real Love goes beyond feelings

Thursday had a unique flavour using Wednesday’s cartoon to focus on the consequences of Loving God aspect

Friday was all about slowing life down and taking time, and making time, to be still and appreciate and live in the moment
