So i tweeted this tweet yesterday and then went out for the day and when i came home i couldn’t understand why my Tweeter had gone mental:
If i asked you, instead of what you do for a living, what your passion is in life, what would you say?
Ah, then i spotted it – Don Miller, author of the popular ‘Blue Like Jazz’ and who has over 179, 258 followers on Twitter had retweeted it and the fun and games had begun with hundreds of favourites and retweets and some replies…
I came up with this while sitting at the singles table of a wedding years ago when i realised that the typical ‘What do you do?’ question didn’t always tell me a lot about the person i was trying to get to know. i don’t really care [lt’s be honest here] all that much about what you do, but i do want to know who you are [and sometimes it’s the same which is incredible].
What is your passion? What are you passionate about in life? seems to open up ‘Who are you?’ a lot more than ‘What is your job?’
So the tweet went far and wide but sadly i didn’t get to see many of the answers of it, and that is what i am hoping to see with this blog. In one sentence or less [less than one sentence?] answer that question for me, if you will be so kind… in the comments section below.
What is your passion? What are you passionate about in life?
And don’t tell me you’re not passionate about anything as some try to. Maybe just take a few more minutes to figure out what it is, if needed.
So that’s what this post is about… whether it is what you currently do or not, i am interested to hear what you are passionate about in life?
And go…
I am one of those fortunate to do what I’m passionate about for a living. My great passion is music. I’m a composer who writes music for documentaries, commercials, and films, and more recently I’ve branched out into producing albums for singers. I also teach and perform…so basically music, music, music! Of course, at church, I’m involved with leading the Worship Ministry, and I’m also passionate about Youth Ministry. I get to combine those 2 passions by training and leading the youth band which was a vision God gave me a few years ago, and since then it has grown incredibly!! Teens who had never picked up an instrument before, or who were too shy to sing, now lead worship passionately and confidently! Amen!!! 🙂 So I know that was more than one sentence, but I hope it gives you an idea of what I’m passionate about, and who God created me to be 😀
Yes man!!!! Just heard your sound of music song on Kfm
that is great and fun and i assume you were talking to Kevin whose comment is above as it was his incredible and fun song…
My passion in life is ensuring others are happy and assisting them with whatever i can to ensure that they are able to maintain a positive outlook on life. I am passionate about my job which consists of ensuring that i assist those in need- helping them meet their needs and helping them understand that they are not alone., that there are good people in the world who are willing to help without expecting anything in return. Being able to assist people and seeing them smile is what makes me the happiest.
The power of psychology, in all it’s many forms, to transform society and individuals. Too often it has been responsible for the formation and perpetuation of skewed power structures and discrimination, but for that very reason it holds a very important key for liberation and the destruction of prejudice
I am passionate about truth in all it’s forms, and about connections. These sound like very vague passions, but they drive everything I do and think. They can be, or seem to be, mutually exclusive. At times this drives me mad. As an antidote I am also passionately silly.
My passion is reading, writing and the English language.
People and love and putting those two together

I have just found this blog so just read this. I think it’s simple, loving God and loving people.
